Speaker 1: Today on our 2002 Honda CR-V, we'll be having a look at and installing the Blue Ox Base Plate Kit with Removable Arms, part number BX2232.Here's what our base plate looks like installed. What's really nice about this with the removable arms, you'll hardly know that the vehicle's been set up to be flat-towed when you don't have the arms in place. It'll still look just like a Honda CR-V in the front of it, and you won't have hardly anything sticking out. The part that sticks out the furthest is the safety cable attachment points that will go between your CR-V and your motor home. Once you have your license plate bracket fully installed, though, if you have a license plate bracket, or front license plate depending on your state, it'll be almost flushed with your license plate, so just keep that in mind. Now when we don't have our arms in place, we have some protective plugs here that we can slide in to help keep dirt and debris out of the socket where the arm goes into, that way you don't have to worry about this arm being difficult to insert. Now our arms are really easy to install. Make sure this tab here is horizontal, slide it in, push, twist, and then the retention pin, which is spring loaded, will lock it into place. more

Today in our 2008 Honda CRV we'll be having a look at and installing the Blue Ox baseplate kit with removable arms, part number BX2246. Here's what our base plate looks like installed. As you can see, it fits nicely in the opening of our fascia right here, no modification required to the fascia at all and it doesn't stick out past our license plate bracket which means it's a clean, unobtrusive look on the front of our vehicle. When it's not in use, we can put these plugs in here where our removable arms go and this'll help keep any dirt and debris out from entering in there making it difficult for us to insert our arms. To each side we have our nice, easy use safety cable attachment point. Found in the middle here we have our prongs which we can use to attach any electrical brackets that we may have, such as a six pole round or a four pole flat for our towed vehicle lighting or towed vehicle braking system. We have a nice mount that's included, a mounter breakaway switch if we're using a towed vehicle braking system. You can see we already have a breakaway switch mounted, this is not included you have to provide your own or it comes with your braking system. When we want to flat tow our CRV behind our coach, we simply remove our plug, keep it, take our removable arm, make sure our tab here is horizontal, stick it in place, push and twist and then our locking pin here locks into place so it can't rotate on out. If we want to remove it, pull the pin out, twist back 90 degrees and pull straight out. It's the same on both sides. These removable arms make it easy for us to attach to any Blue Ox tow bar. more

Today on this 2003 Honda Element we're going to install part number Bx2232 from Blue Ox. Go ahead and get underneath the hood and remove some plastic fasteners that hold the top of the bumper cover. Now we'll remove all the plastic fasteners that we can see plus the ones for the panel in the center. They'll be one last plastic grid that we'll have to remove that's underneath the panel. Now we'll go to the bottom of the vehicle at the bottom edge of the bumper cover. There'll be two metric bolts in the bottom, two on each side. You don't have to remove these, but it did make the whole assembly a little bit easier to work with and made it more flexible. Now we'll go to each fender well. more

Roadmaster Base Plate Installation - 2001 Honda CR-V

Today on this 2001 Honda CR-V we are going to be installing Roadmaster Base Plate Kit part number 1528-3. First thing we need to do is come underneath and locate front tie down plates on both the drivers and the passengers sides of the vehicle. The other thing that we are going to need located on the vehicle are the existing bolts that are mounting into the sub frame, follow rearward on the vehicle and we want to locate the tubular sway bar here directly behind that there are two bolts. We are going to be using the one that is center most on the vehicle as our attaching point to the sub frame, and we are going to do that on both the drivers and passengers sides of the vehicle, so we are going to want to remove this inboard side bolt. And we will just set those bolts off to the side for a minute; we are going to be reusing those bolts once we get our base plate attached. more

Roadmaster Base Plate Installation - 2011 Honda Fit

Alright, today on this 2011 Honda Fit we are going to install part number 521190-1 from Roadmaster. This is their EZ base plate kit. What we have done so far is removed the front wheels. You do not really have to do that but sometimes it makes it a little bit easier to get to stuff to help remove the front clip when you are ready to take it off. Now we will go ahead and start by removing some of the top plastic fasteners that are underneath the hood. We are removing these five fasteners here. The best way is to just pull out the center. Then pop it up. Now there is a fastener right here that we need to remove. There will be one on each side to do. We are done with the driver side. We will do the same thing on the passenger side. Alright, there are a variety of fasteners we need to remove underneath. It is the same thing as the fasteners on top. Just pop out the middle and just pull them out. Since these are on the bottom, it will probably take a little bit more force. 1:15 more

Roadmaster Base Plate Installation - 2002 Honda Civic- Video

Roadmaster Base Plate Installation - 2002 Honda Civic

Today on this 2002 Honda Civic we are going to install base plate from Roadmaster part number 521537-1. These base plates are going to mount to the frame, sub frame, and the bumper behind the fascia. To begin our install what we are going to have to do is take down this lower plastic cover here. There are about 10 fasteners that hold this in place so we are going to go through all of these and take this down. There are a couple of screws we have to take out too, one on this side and one on the other. Next we will work on the fasteners that go up inside the fender well. Next we will start on the fasteners for the bumper fascia itself. We will start from the top and then work our way down to the sides. We can take out this body screw right here and go back to the passenger side and do that one too. Be very careful, this panel just unsnaps pulling it straight out. Once you get both sides loosened it is a good idea to have an extra set of hands to take the fascia off. 01:05 more
